it needs a few things here and there so i'm looking for ideas on upgrades and swappables as some bits on the bike are damaged or don't work reet good :nodyes:

now the zzr11 cam swap has been mentioned already, but that's not something i'm looking at doing just yet, nor is spraying it matt black or silver or slicing it to bits :rolleyes:


anyway :nodyes:



the previous owner decided to modify the right side lever by dropping the bike... so the bar ends are scuffed and sharp and could do with been changed.

also the mirrors are fairly useless.... despite pissing about with them they don't catch much of anything other than the jacket :rolleyes:

so new mirrors are on the cards, but im not into bar end mirrors as they make filtering a pain in the arse :lol:

also think some wider bars would look good too :nodyes: and feel more comfortable :nodyes:

wouldn't mind getting the seat done too :nodyes:



now i've also heard the little diamond rubber in the radiator causes problems?
also any other popular mods that make life easier?

up until 3 years ago i was used to jumping on any of the training school bikes & just getting on with it, then jumping on the zx12 to go home-never gave it a second thought, never had problems with different styles of bike, clutch bites etc.

i must be getting old.:big grin:

i've been wavering on wether to sell the 12, based on a number of reasons, but mainly i've lost my "mojo" with it. its been a long time since i made an excuse to go out for a ride, but i find i'm doing that more & more with the VN.

even my beloved chop has taken a back seat(mostly due to any money i had earmarked for the chop went on the cruiser)

i picked up this pw80 but as you can see it aint the best condition it could be in, so i stripped it right down, tidied it all up and hopefully at the ned he should have a fairly decent little bike

brakes etc all sorted out and back up on wheels


highened the rear end so it aint sagging down and bottoming out all the time and had the seat recovered


all thats really left now is to get it decal'd up before i hand it over to him - initially i was thinking a kenny roberts theme, but i went with sheened 1982 500 - sorry about the MS paint very roughly drawn pic but you get a general idea of where im heading

so i went back to the kwaker shop and got this, because it made me grin :nodyes:






















just shy of 27,000 miles, shed load of history - 3 months full warranty, fresh 12 month mot, taxed till end of decembre £2,100 :nodyes:

what made me go for the zrex over the zzr? the engine in the 'rex is fucking brilliant, the power is on tap from 2krpm, excellent!

the front tyre on the cruiser is an old avon roadrunner from god knows when, its too big(the edges have been worn down by the front mudguard) so that has to go.

you might think it would be easy to get hold of a matched pair of H rated tyres for not a lot of money?

£180 for a pair of conti/s is the best i can do.
